Our Mission Statement

Discovery Elementary School is committed to providing a solid foundation in academics and personal growth. This is achieved through developing:

-a sense of connectedness (I belong here. People care about me)
-a sense of uniqueness (I am special. I have something worthwhile to contribute)
-a sense of responsibility/efficiency (I am in control of my life)
-experiences with a variety of educational models (Research based curriculum and positive educational models individual examples)

We have an on-going self-study process that involves staff and parents. Our mission and goals are continually reviewed and are revised and updated as our society and educational needs change.

This parent handbook and calendar has been prepared for you as a practical resource. You'll find our procedures outlined for the day-to-day operations of the school. Calendar changes will be noted in the parent newsletter that comes home on Thursday.
