Health/Illness
- A health room is located in the main office area. We have a school nurse in the health room one day a week. A health technician and our office personnel handle minor health room concerns and medication on a daily basis. We are unable to keep ill students at school. You will be called to pick up your child if he/she becomes ill.
- Regular attendance is only one of the essential ingredients necessary in achieving an education. However, it is not as important as maintaining one’s physical well being. If you have reason to believe your child is ill, it is always best for your child and his/her classmates to keep him/her at home. Parents/guardians will be contacted and asked to pick up your child if any of the following are present: fever, red, draining eyes(s), vomiting, diarrhea, rash, or any symptom causing great discomfort for your child; i.e., severe cough. Students should be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. If you have any questions about how long to keep your child home after an illness, please contact our health room personnel at 530-1224.
When your child is ill or absent for any reason, please call the attendance line, 530-1206, and leave a message. If it is necessary for a child to be away from school for reasons other than illness, it is best to make prior arrangements with the teacher for homework.
