Discovery opened its doors in 1981. The name Discovery was chosen for its historical significance as well as the belief that education involves pupil discovery. Historically, “The Discovery” was the first English sailing vessel in this corner of the world (May 1792). The interior motif is nautical, depicting a replica of the stern of the historical ship.

Our building is designed to house 500-550 students in a flexible teaching atmosphere. Classrooms utilize the folding walls to facilitate large group instruction. Instructional alcoves, open access to labs, and the media center also increase the flexibility of our program.

The strong network of staff and parents at Discovery has a deep commitment of working to provide the best educational program for each student. We place high value on each child's unique qualities of heritage, intellectual ability, physical and emotional traits, and special talents.
